Be part of the national effort to support children and young people's education in the new year. Teach supply.

Key messages

• Whether in primary school or a further education college, education is something to be protected.

• That’s why we’re doing everything we can to limit the impact on all learners, especially children.

• That includes making sure there is a strong pool of qualified people who can step in to help teach our children and young people on a temporary basis.

• If you want to support the national effort to keep education going, get in touch with a local supply agency and return to teaching for a limited amount of time.

• Even if you left teaching several years ago, you can still register with a supply agency today to teach in the spring term.

• Bring your experience back into the classroom and choose the hours you want to work. The supply agency will handle new DBS checks for you. *

• The reason you got into teaching is the reason to come back.

• If your DBS check has lapsed, don’t worry. By signing up with a supply agency, you’ll get help with all pre-employment checks and they will work with you to find a school.

• Supply work is also a great way of building up your references should you wish to return to teaching more permanently in the future.

*West Country are keen that it should not cost you money to return to teaching - therefore we will commit to reimbursing the cost, if you have to take out a DBS through us, upon completion of your first booking.
